A Life in Black and White

am not your usual lady in the neighbourhood. i could be fun-loving and ambitions blazing, yet chilling with a good book in hand. loves audrey hepburn movies, lemon-lime-&-bitters, vintage anything and furniture. am not one effortlessly impressed. i see my goals, my dreams and the enjoyment would lie not merely in the success at the end of the road but in this journey of life. livin` it, lovin` it, keepin` it real. i travel alone, i travel light, in my 20`s - la vie est belle!

Rosy posy

Aloha! I'm back from Phuket! My back's really hurting from the sun burns, and I think I look truly exhausted! Well, even so and what with work lined up tomorrow morning, I can't help but stay up now to upload my pics. Banyan Tree Phuket was beautiful! Thanks Steph for the recommendation! ;)

One of my best holidays ever...I doubt I'd ever forget the place in this lifetime! Pristine beaches, wonderful service, the loveliest villa, personal outdoor jacuzzi...everything! Truly a paradise...luxe and calming all at once! I had my first Aquacise session ever, fruit carving experience, and I simply could not resist getting my hands on the Jim Thompson Thai silk linen at the factory outlet store! Hehe...

Well, I shan't say any more...let the photos speak for themselves! :) Good week guys...

A teeny weeny itsy bit of me

Shopping with my dear GA is always a joy :) We chanced upon this new Lizzie Scheck store downtown and it was lovely! I think all 3 are beautiful, GA's just so in love with the ribbon one! :) All come in white gold, yellow gold and rose gold...how stunning to layer 2 different types of gold with different pendants. Picture this: horseshoe pendant (as worn by SJP in SATC) in white gold layered with ribbon pendant (as worn by Charlotte in SATC) in rose gold. Love it! ;)

I had a heartwarming thought last night. As I lay on my sheets, it dawned on me how much I miss Paris and Italy. So nice. The streets, the food, the shops, the weather, the cultures...How much I'd like to go back and how different things would be this time around. Maybe next year? Hehe.

This special day this year I'll be spending me time and my dear GA offered to take me out to dinner - very sweet! :) My dear is out busy working, and I'm not complaining coz work comes first even for myself! Well, spending some alone time is therapeutic coz it really helps to realise how important people who care are. Thanks for having me in your hearts. Another day, another year...

I'm looking forward to the Kenzo show on 6 Sept at The Scarlett.

24 hours to go...

I met the 2 most remarkable florists today. Amazing! The colours, the flowers, the details...

I've got a huge load off my chest. I've made a few big decisions and it couldn't come at a better time! Let's leave the fun till next year ;)

On another note, I miss my lil piece of haven...stop globe trotting you! Hehe...

I've had a long day and night. It was a fulfilling day though. I wrote like I'd never written for so long in my life. Got miscellaneous stuffs out of the way and saw the loveliest flowers and artistic creative talents...things are certainly heating up and excitement is setting in...

I'm happy. Thanks to all you guys - all my beloved ones...for everything!

My wish is for a happy life with everyone. Can I be a tad greedy and ask for golf improvements as well? Haha :) Bonne nuit!

Was really touched to receive my second birthday card this year this time around from my lil piece of haven...it was mailed to me! God, I just love snail mail. It brings the personal touch which electronic mails today lack.

"Hi JD...our friendship has blossomed and I appreciate you...am here and will always be here, even when we grow old, I'm always here. Love, G"

Touched my heart.

That is exactly why you're one of my bestest friends. I would just do the same for you and more. Thanks dear...Gonna miss bitching with you, enjoy Tokyo anyways!

My day was pretty awesome even though it ended on a sad note. It was another of those petty exchange of words. Whatever.

I was babbling the evening and night away with my lil piece of haven...ladida...

The evening was divine...a slow beauty treatment and then more peeps at the Vera Wang gowns...and then we were off to dinner at my favourite place of the moment - Corduroy & Finch! The tenderloin was sooo good, it was crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy and tender on the inside...and the chicken breast was fantastic! They'll be seeing a lot of me from now on that's for sure...2 nights in a row, I'm getting quite fond of the place definitely!

Stevie's recent blog entry about idiosyncracies inspired this, so here we are - my little five :

1. I have to be entirely clean after a night out, before I slip into bed because I'm quite a cleanliness freak I simply cannot stomach sleeping without showering and cleaning up. My sheets are very personal.

2. I cringe badly when I see people wearing horrid clothes and thinking the world of themselves.

3. I have a thing for healthy living. I'm clueless as to the reason why. I just do.

4. I rave on and on about my favourite old movies and my favourite shows I can just watch and re-watch them again and again.

5. I have to have my daily dosage of jazz and chill-out lounge music every morning, it just helps put a smile on my face for the day.

10 days to the 2-5. Happy birthday virgos...

spoken so, in true fashion

After a long weekend and then back to weekday reality, mentally I feel a lot lighter truly. The Saturday that just passed...thanks guys for coming to the dinner, and for the wine! The golf tees, the sunday golf bag, the aromatherapy products, and all that jazz! Last but not least, to D for being so patient and for all the cooking! :) And also, most importantly, D's parents for all the food, being so warm and welcoming...Heaps of thanks...I had a ball and hope everyone else had a brilliant time as well!

I've been up to my neck in preps. Got most things covered and I'm just scouting around to get a few more things done... :) Thanks babe for your help in advance when you get to New York! Vera Wang just takes my breath away...

It was RC's last day at the firm on Friday...I can't help but feel a tiny tinge of loss...all the lunches, all the talks, all the laughs, all the walks...I'm happy though that she's off to the place she wants to venture into.

I'm going to miss my lil piece of haven who's going jetsetting, first off to Tokyo come friday, and then Melbourne come September, finishing off with New York end September. Have fun my dear! And thanks for everything too...

coloured garnet

After many attempts, one can't help but feel drained. People whom one consistently put oneself up for, continuously caring for, countlessly trying damn hardest to put aside time for, failed oneself time and again...it's time to bid sayoonara ne.

I suppose it's part and parcel of life. In life, there is great happiness and great sadness - a gamut of emotions. I've learnt that if one keeps waiting to be happy, it's never going to happen. It's true that the world is full of weird people, and one's got to accept how the world works sometimes and be glad that we are very fortunate.

It's the long weekend here...I'm just going to kick back my black stilettos, daydream away and chill! ;) Ssh! Don't remind me that I'm turning 25 in 2 weeks.
