A Life in Black and White

am not your usual lady in the neighbourhood. i could be fun-loving and ambitions blazing, yet chilling with a good book in hand. loves audrey hepburn movies, lemon-lime-&-bitters, vintage anything and furniture. am not one effortlessly impressed. i see my goals, my dreams and the enjoyment would lie not merely in the success at the end of the road but in this journey of life. livin` it, lovin` it, keepin` it real. i travel alone, i travel light, in my 20`s - la vie est belle!

Prime

I love this film. It's old but pretty good. Kept me glued to the screen the whole time. And I guess the 1952 Mark Rothko helped keep my spirits up. Love the piece too much!

Uma and Bryan really kept the screen sizzling...a gentle cheeky reminder of how some memories in our past are kept the way they are...the sweet, the sour, the bitter and the spicy.

On to another week coming up ahead. Hope everyone had a good one - the weekend's coming to an end very soon!

Double O Seven

It was AC's 30th Birthday last night - a James Bond bash held at Clarke Quay's Fashion Bar!

So, I went dressed as a Bond Girl (well, attempted to..lol), what else? R wore his amazing tux shirt...and the place was nicely dressed up by SC with loads of dollar bills on the tables, dice, streamers and balloons...

Happy Birthday Arjuna! We had a smashing time...cheers!

A Dash of Local Art

Yappy and myself, along with a couple of other friends, decided to check out the National Museum of Singapore last night and support the Night Festival. What a pleasant surprise!

Personally I was impressed with some of the exhibits and the buzz created a nice atmosphere...the bars / restaurants there added on a cozy touch. I think the local art museum has outdone itself, and I can see myself making more trips there in the days ahead...

Every little item that sits in our apartment, in my wardrobe, on my shoe rack, seems to tell a story of its own. And the recent additions are no exceptions - stories of love. R's been pampering me with gifts for the last month or so.

I was so excited to see the little orange boxes...the first orange box from Paris...then the coveted clutch from London, and now the second orange box from Bangkok airport...

Hmm now I'm beginning to suspect, R's trying to buy nods from me for more golf games...lol

Portraits

SF recently joked that as ladies, we should preserve our youth on film every year and a half...

With her very quote in mind, SF and I signed up for a Le Petite Portraiture session with Shin from The Pond. What then started off was a mad rush to get my curls done, and catching a cab down to the studio - all within lunchtime, before heading back to the Bank. It was a very interesting day.

Here's a taste of the end product...

Perhaps with each growing day as I count down the years, I can't help but still be amazed by what each day brings...to my daily routine, to my plate, to my journey of life...oh yes, and the curls are beginning to grow on me.

Almost back

How long has it been? Almost a few weeks now. Working 14 hour days - unimaginable, but actually true. Okay I shan't rant about work. I still love what I do and ain't tired of what I do just yet, only have to be convinced I'm working for the "right cause" in this particular stint. I've grown to realise that management skills can come from anyone, but good management skills are rare. Takes tons for a good "manager" to sit, listen and take in upward feedback, both good and bad.

My heart is still pounding over the US sales...haven't scored anything but my eyes are wide open...July's meant to be a good month...and August, I don't know really, I'll be another year older. For now, I only know what I'll be doing on the day I turn the big 3-0.

Look at my cousin's kid - how cute! This picture made my day :)

Ah yes, and I need to get all my new soles fixed before I can wear them out...the guccis, the YSLs, and hehe maybe the CL pythons if I manage to get my hands on them...
