the sauces in what we call friendship
After an entire morning of risk theories, coupled with Greenspan analysis, I finally made time for myself. Looking at my past few weeks and maybe even months, everyday is still a learning experience. And I realise now that regardless of how strong one might be, life can never be complete without friendship. People who know the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words. Friends who take your hand and walk by your side through life's toughest journeys, friends who accompany you through your dullest and silliest moments, friends who listen and say the most important things, friends who tell you to stay patient despite the un-nerving temptation to rush things along, friends who see you for who you are deep down, friends who will always make time for the smallest things which might mean the world to you, and friends who tell you the good, bad, and ugly straight to your face and help keep your feet firmly grounded. Friends who tell you to follow your heart, and to stay true to all that you believe in, in that it can never go very wrong.
I realise how lucky I am. Really. And I thank my blessings for having everyone in my life. Now that even if I have the slighest doubt, I think back on all that everyone has shared with me, and it gives me strength to surge ahead :) I have truly come to appreciate all the sauces in what we call friendship - the sweet sauces, the sour sauces, the bitter ones and the savoury parts too :)
Stay true to your heart. Decisions are all made for a reason. Never look back.
Hence so, finally a load has been lifted tonight, and I've never felt more peaceful lying on my back and looking up at the beautiful stars...
And even though I don't say or show it much - I've never loved R more :)
"Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away. - George Eliot"
